What does Air-Conditioning do?
Your Air-Conditioning system cleans, dries and cools the air in the cabin, giving you a comfortable driving environment. In the summer months, having a cool car makes for a better driving experience and using your air-con is less expensive in terms of fuel usage than having your window open. In the winter your air-con will also help you de-mist and de-humidify the car more quickly.
Why does my Air-Con need servicing?
Servicing the air conditioning system is not normally included in a standard service however it does often receive heavy use particularly throughout the summer. Therefore it is important not to neglect this system as you may start to notice stale smells and the bacteria trapped in the system can aggravate allergies. At Fast-Fit when we perform a full system re-gas we empty the system completely and refill it with clean gas which will ensure your air-con stays fresher for longer.
Our IMI approved air-con technicians offer an all-year round leak test and re-gas, if needed, replacing refrigerant and PAG oil and if necessary UV dye. It is estimated that around 10% of the refrigerant in your air-con system escapes every year therefore we recommend recharging your system every 2 years to keep it working at full capacity.
