Parent Involvement

At Fyfield Pre-School we encourage Parent involvement within the Pre-school.

This can be done either by coming into Pre-school and helping; joining the committee; helping with fund raising; provide input into the Pre-school’s curriculum planning or by showing the children a particular skill, i.e. Indian cooking, speaking French, etc.

Parents are regarded as members of our setting who have full participatory rights. These include a right to be:

  • • valued and respected;
  • • kept informed;
  • • consulted;
  • • involved; and
  • • included at all levels.

    EYFS

    Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Parent Guide, is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child’s life between birth and age 5.

    Behaviour

    Watch your children flourish

    The Owl Carousel particle set is a brilliant way to display your visually-rich content.

    We believe that children flourish best when their personal, social and emotional needs are met and where there are clear and developmentally appropriate expectations for their behaviour.

    We have many ways of promoting positive behaviour. One of these being our reward system whereby good behaviour is recognised and rewarded on our sticker chart during circle time. Our 'star of the week' award is given to the child who has tried the hardest and shown considerate behaviour such as kindness to others and willingness to share.

    ROLE PLAY

    For children, role play is essentially learning through play. It is a fun and a ‘playful’ activity but is also a key component of a child's learning. Role play is simply a type of pretend play where children get into character and act out a role or real life context.
